It’s been an interesting journey.
My career has been varied, as yours most likely will be. It’s been unusual because I was with one company for 25 years. Unusual, too, because within that company I actually had three distinct careers.
As a senior executive of a billion dollar retailer, I wore
a variety of hats. I was a buyer, director of planning, corporate trainer and developer of essential business systems - a vice president for 18 of those years. Throughout, I continuously mentored young talent.
All that ended when I left corporate life in early 2006 to dive into my passion – helping young people make the transition from college to the workplace.
I am privileged to belong to the industry’s most important organizations which offer excellent seminars and workshops. They include the Association of Career Professionals, American Counseling Association and the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
My Master’s Degree is from New York University in Retail Management and my B.A. from Oklahoma State University is in Merchandising. Yes, I grew up in Oklahoma where I was, in fact, a cheerleader.
Cheerleader … Coach. That’s who I am. Gratefully, some things never change.
All that said, my greatest successes – and my greatest joys – are my son and daughter, now thriving in college.
